As a Northern Ireland based tech company, we're always on the lookout for ways in which we can support our local community. This is why we've put our running shoes on and become the title sponsor of the Whitespace NIURA 50K and 100K Northern Ireland and Ulster Championships!
The Northern Ireland Ultrarun Association's aim is to establish the championships as a permanent fixture within the NI Race community following a long period without competitive races due to the pandemic. The team expect to see entries from the top ultra runners from the UK and Ireland and potentially marathon runners attracted by the flat 50k course.
This event is not just for ultra runners, local businesses will be able to take part in a corporate and club relay ultra 50k race (which will be on the looped track) and for those not based in NI, we've made it possible for companies around the UK to get involved by taking part in the ‘Whitespace Virtual Corporate Race!'.
Our digital version will allow companies and their teams to take part in a 50km race over a longer period of time without the pressure of competing live on the day - allowing everyone to connect safely whilst bringing businesses together in a time of need to raise morale and lift each other's spirits.
Andy McCartney, Co-Founder of Whitespace has said: “We are so excited to be a part of the Ultrarun this year. It is a pleasure to be supporting the community and boosting everyone's spirits during these challenging times. It is also an event that is close to home for me as my wife, Susan, is an established athlete on the circuit and thoroughly enjoys being a part of the ultra running community.”
The NUIRA Ultrarun Event will take place on Saturday 29 May, at Down Royal Racecourse. The registration link is HERE.
More info on the Whitespace Virtual Corporate Race will be shared over the next few weeks but if you’re already keen to get involved then please email Ocean@white.space.
