We’re pleased to announce that award-winning entrepreneur Ailís McCaul has joined Whitespace to oversee the launch of our latest venture, Shift.
Through Shift, the team will be working on the new phase of the existing Whitespace Corporate Innovation Community. Built by the community for the community, Shift is an exclusive, online experience that helps members learn from their peers and accelerate innovation. As the newly appointed Venture Architect, Ailís will be leading the charge by creating a movement within the world of innovation.
Ailis, who won the 2019 Digital DNA upStart award as co-founder of the peer-to-peer donation platform ‘Esther’, will also work a 3-day working week.
After having her first child, Ailís was determined to find a role that enabled her to remain in a senior position but also allowed her to prioritise her family. Our aim as a company is to deliver a culture that allows for flexible working and after speaking to a number of companies who said this was available, it was only Whitespace that lived up to the promise.
Ailís worked with Whitespace CIO, Rachel Gawley to shape the role to ensure it worked for everyone on the team.
Rachel said: ‘Having the scarcity of a person’s availability really has focused us to dedicate time, ensure boundaries and rethink some processes. Everyone on the team benefits. It’s about the value a person brings and not the old world of presenteeism.’

Ailís will also feature at the next Whitespace Corporate Innovation Community Meet which is happening on the 16th March at 10:30am. Register your place HERE.
